Organized by the International Trademark Association between May 20-24, 2017 in Barcelona, Spain, the world’s largest trademark conference which involved 10.668 brand managers, trademark lawyers and patent office officials from 140 countries came to an end.
Within the scope of trademark law and practice, more than 300 educational opportunities and training sessions have taken place for various national and global legal applications such as trademark counterfeiting, customs protections, trademark issues in growing economies including China. More than 100 committee meetings, 30 networking excursions and dozens of receptions were held during the course of the conference.
Destek Patent’s Contributions for Turkey
In order to promote Turkey’s new industrial property law and the rising values of Turkey in a global sense, numerous meetings and activities were successfully carried out by Destek Patent’s delegates, namely by Mr. Kemal Yamankaradeniz, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Mr. Ersin Dereligil, Managing Partner, as well as Mrs. Claudia Kaya, Mr. Ahmet Faruk Yamankaradeniz, Mrs. Yeşim Metin, Mrs. Pelin Demiroğlu, Mr. Ahmet Furkan Özdemir and Mrs. Simay Akbas during the INTA Annual Meeting.
The Turkish Consul General in Spain, Mr. Cihan Geleri, and about 250 brand managers and senior trademark professionals from 50 countries were welcomed at Destek Patents’ private breakfast reception at the Fira Gran Via Hotel on 23 May. Besides, more than 50 meetings were held and hundreds of brochures were distributed at the welcome desk of Destek Patent at the entrance of exhibition hall.
The INTA 2017 successfully represented our country in the field of industrial rights in the international arena. The meetings held within the scope of the congress brought Destek Patent closely together with associates and solution partners operating from abroad. In separate meetings held with trademark attorneys and law firms, trademark practice in the fields of international and national registration procedures, successful cases and ongoing cases were evaluated. Moreover, solution proposals to current international and national issues of Turkish industrialists and brand owners were collaboratively discussed.

“IP Star” Awarded for the Fourth Time
Destek Patent successfully represented our country in the international arena at the INTA Annual Meeting and was awarded with the “IP Star” certificate for the fourth time by "Managing Intellectual Property", which is a reputable publisher in the international promotion and protection of intellectual property rights due to its outstanding achievements in the field of industrial rights and its valuable contributions.
