Destek Patent participated at the 37th Annual Meeting of ECTA, the European Communities Trade Mark Association, which took place in Athens between 12-16 June 2018 and had 750 registered participants.
Athens as a city-state of ancient times and as the capital of modern Greece that lies geographically, culturally and politically between East and West at the crossroads of civilizations which have influenced the history of mankind, led to this year’s Conference title: “Gods in Transit: IP at the Crossroads of Great Civilizations”.
The title relates to our nowadays globalized economy by everlasting changes, the adjustment to sometimes unforeseeable situations and the importance of continuous and free movement of goods. Furthermore, IP professionals are often challenged by conflicting interests connected with goods in transit.
With more than 1500 members, ECTA is one of the largest Trademark Associations in Europe. The task of ECTA is to promote the knowledge and professionalism of members and owners alike in the fields of trademarks, designs, copyright and other Intellectual Property rights, within the European Union.
