The first “Exhibition of Inventions 2011” in Turkey took place in Bursa between 1-4 December 2011 under the patronage of Bursa Governorship and coordinated by UPB (International Patent Association) and KOSGEB (Small and Medium Industry Development Organization).
Domestic inventors, technical schools and universities and associations like TUBITAK (Turkish Scientific and Technical Research Institution), KOSGEB and the Turkish Patent Institute) as well as Destek Patent made the scene.
During the exhibition, two days seminar was held at the Bursa International Fair and Congress Center. Nuri Coşkun Irfan, UPB President underlined “Patent awareness was weak in Turkey; only 19 patents per one million population have been generated in 2009 whereas this was 2.600 in South Korea. The good news was the number of domestic patent application was doubled comparing to the earlier year”.
A.Kerem Doğueri from European Patent Office, Ersin Dereligil from Destek Patent, Hakan Ulusu from KOSGEB and Jur.Dr.Mevci Ergün were the panel speakers and patent protection and management issues together with and KOSGEB patent and R&D incentives were discussed in detail.
